Requirment for Malaysia My Second Home Program
 
1. Financial requirement
A) New Applicants:
 
i) Aged below 50 years old but above 18 years old:
a. Must open a fixed deposit account of at least RM300,000.00
 
  • After a period of one year, the participant is allowed to withdraw up to RM240,000.00 for approved expenses relating to house purchase, education for children in Malaysia and medical purposes.
  • Participant must maintain a minimum balance of  RM60,000.00 from second year of participation onwards and throughout his/her stay in Malaysia under this program.
ii) Aged 50 years old and above:
a. The applicant can either choose to:
 
  • Open a fixed deposit account of at least RM150,000.00 ; or
  • Show proof of monthly off-shore income of at least RM10,000.00 such as pension scheme, rental etc.
b.

The participant who fulfill the fixed deposit (a) requirement:

 
  • Can withdraw up to RM90,000.00 for approved expenses relating to house purchase, education for children in Malaysia and medical purposes after a period of one year.
  • Must maintain a minimum balance of at least RM60,000.00 from second year onwards and throughout his stay in Malaysia under this program.
c. Participants under this program (both new and existing) may withdraw their entire fixed deposit anytime should they decided to terminate their stay in Malaysia under this program. However, they must obtain prior approval from the Ministry of Tourism Malaysia.
   
2. Medical Report
All participant s and their dependents ( spouse and children) are required to submit a medical report from any private hospital in Malaysia.
 
3. Medical Insurance
Approved participants and their dependents (spouse and children) must posses valid medical insurance coverage from any insurance company that is applicable in Malaysia.
